Don't Spy On Us events (9 April)

There are two campaign events on 9 April in London for Don't Spy On Us supporters - one in Parliament and one at the London Book Fair.


The Don't Spy On Us campaign is picking up momentum with events next week and our supporter base growing - thanks to your help.

FREE EVENT: The global perspective on surveillance: international voices on why the Snowden revelations matter

9 April 2014, Committee Room 6, House of Commons, 6.30pm. Host: Tom Watson MP
Join Tom Watson MP and the Don't Spy On Us coalition to hear first hand testimony from experts and human rights defenders on how governments, politicians and civil society view the Snowden disclosures on GCHQ and NSA surveillance from outside the Five Eyes

We will be joined by: Gus Hosein - Privacy International; Vivian Newman Pont - Colombia - Dejusticia; Claudio Ruiz - Chile - ONG Derechos Digitale; Nighat Dad - Pakistan - Digital Rights Foundation; Hisham Almiraat - Morocco - Global Voices.

EVENT: London Book Fair - Luke Harding in conversation with Mike Harris

9 April at 10am as part of English PEN's Literary Salon at the London Book Fair

Luke Harding has written the inside story of Snowden's deeds and the journalists who faced down pressure from the US and UK governments to break a remarkable scoop. Luke will be interviewed by Don't Spy On Us campaign director Mike Harris.

This week Big Brother Watch hit Buzzfeed with Nine Genuine Edward Snowden Revelations - And One April Fool. The Buzzfeed highlighted 8 genuine Snowden disclosures on how GCHQ and the NSA intend to 'Master the Internet', with just one April fool, can you guess which of these startling revelations is not actually true?
